These were the words of the Apostle Paul letting the church at Corinth know that God had opened a door for him. Paul called this unique opportunity not only a “great” door, but also an “effectual”  door. The word “effectual” is the Greek word energes, from which we get the word energy. But as used in New Testament Greek, the word energes describes something that is forceful, effective, active, or powerful. The apostle was collecting support (money) from the Corinthian Believers, along with other churches of Believers that would support those who were called of God. He stated that he would pass by Corinth after passing through Macedonia to receive the collection.

I’m writing to let you know that the Lord has opened a “great” and an “effectual” door for Bro. Carl Brown to preach the message of Jesus Christ and Him crucified, and the message of the cross on the continent of Africa. He was contacted by Bishop Titus Imoite from Nairobi, Africa who pastors The World Harvest Church. They are building another church in Kimilili another Town in Bungoma County. They want to have a crusade of which the expectant attendance would be above 50,000. This describes that the Greek word “energes” which is something that is forceful, effective, active, or powerful. We’ll have opportunity to bring the message of the cross to this people. The Bishops church has been a recipient of Bro. Swaggart’s Expositors Study Bible, and hey are hungry for the message of the cross. 

Before the giant crusade, there will be two services with pastors only from the surrounding areas. We’ll have opportunity to teach pastors directly, before the big crusade to reach the thousands for salvation. While I in no way compare myself to the great Apostle Paul. But, the Call to ministry is the very same. with Jesus “Great Commission” to go into all the world and preach the gospel. I have accepted this invitation to go to Africa. The meeting and the crusade will be in early December. They would prefer that time because the weather is almost perfect at that time of the year. In Africa, I’m told, there is a rainy season that’s possible to start in March. There won’t be any opportunity for a crusade during the rainy season.

In order to take advantage of the “great” open door, I will need help from America Christians and churches with the expenses of such an undertaking. I have refused many previous invitations to Africa, India, Pakistan, and the UK. But this one, I believe the Lord has spoken to my heart to accept this invitation. Bishop Imoite and I spoke on Monday and had an extensive conversation and prayer. Trusting the Lord that He will send me to them.
